The primary goal was to modernize the zoo’s branding while maintaining an approachable and educational tone suitable for all age groups. Each icon is designed with clean, minimal line work and bold shapes, ensuring clarity while still capturing the unique characteristics of each animal. The redesigned wayfinding signs emphasize functionality and accessibility. Clear directional arrows, high-contrast color choices, and legible typography work together to guide visitors efficiently through the space. Creating a pop-out animal sign provides a visual appeal, with more information about the animal around the sign.
I chose green and blue for the designed logo because they gave a nice contrast to each other. I chose a simplistic theme for the zoo because the target audience was younger kids to teens. Having a friendlier cartoon animal felt more welcoming to kids. As for the wayfinding signs, I took a more accurate look at the animals to show more cautiousness when observing them.
